Michael J. Williams
Mike Williams, originally from Detroit, Michigan, moved to New Mexico in 1984 and is the father of two daughters.
Highlights from Councilor Williams’ life include:
- Served over 30 years in law enforcement and retired
- Served 25 years in labor relations
- Served two terms on the Rio Rancho Labor Management Board
- Served two terms on the Rio Rancho Planning and Zoning Commission
- Member, Loyal Order Moose Lodge 2447 - past governor
- Member, Sons of American Legion Post 118
- Division Captain, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary
- Past president, New Mexico Coalition of Public Safety Officers
- Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments Board Member
- Served as Deputy Mayor for Rio Rancho for a total of 3 1/2 years
- Appointed Mayor of Rio Rancho by the Governing Body on August 8, 2007
- Elected District 1 City Councilor for a third-term on March 4, 2008
