Glass Recycling
Why can't we recycle glass in Rio Rancho? Unfortunately, there are no local markets for glass recycling, thus because glass is so heavy, it is cost prohibitive to ship it elsewhere. Currently the City of Rio Rancho and Waste Management do not accept glass for recycling. To throw glass items in with current recyclables would contaminate single-stream service.
