On January 24, 2007, the Governing Body for the City of Rio Rancho approved a Metropolitan Redevelopment Policy.

The purpose of this policy is to define and manage Rio Rancho’s use and implementation of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Code.

Vital to this policy is encouraging public education and involvement as well as fair and equitable property owner compensation to guide sustainable, long-term community development on a city-wide basis.
