The extension of Broadmoor Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan creates a new and needed north-south corridor that provides improved access to the City Center area. The City Center is currently home to the UNM West Campus, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, CNM Rio Rancho Campus, City Hall, Santa Ana Star Center, Hewlett-Packard, and S & P Data. In addition, this roadway extension opens up a new area for development.
The construction cost is $3,256,502.33. Funding sources include a federal grant ($812,177) via the New Mexico Department of Transportation, City Impact Fees ($201,465), and City Higher Education Facilities Gross Receipts Tax proceeds.
Construction is anticipated to last from May to December 2016.
