Selection of a Utilities Commissioner is based upon the individual’s qualifications, knowledge and experience related to the operation of water and wastewater facilities and the effect of such operation on the community. If the position represents a district, the Rio Rancho resident must live in the district associated with the vacancy. City employees and employees of any contract operator are not eligible to serve on the Commission.

Regularly scheduled commission meetings are normally held at Rio Rancho City Hall at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are streamed on the city’s Web site, http://www.ci.rio-rancho.nm.us, and broadcast on the city’s RioVision government cable channel, which is available to Rio Rancho Cable One subscribers. Rio Rancho City Hall is located at 3200 Civic Center Circle.
