The official results from the city of Rio Rancho’s April 17, 2012, runoff municipal election for District 4 city councilor and District 6 city councilor are:

Due to no candidate receiving more than 50 percent of the total votes cast in the city’s March 6, 2012, regular municipal election for District 4 city councilor and District 6 city councilor, the candidates with the highest and second-highest vote totals from the regular election were subject to a runoff election. 

Voter Turnout
Only registered voters residing in District 4 and District 6 were eligible to vote in the runoff election.

Of the 9,979 registered voters who could have cast a ballot in the District 4 city councilor runoff election, 1,078 or 10.8 percent voted.

Of the 9,929 registered voters who could have cast a ballot in the District 6 city councilor runoff election, 1,099 or 11.1 percent voted.
