All information must be filled in and a copy of at least one of the following - Driver's License, valid state ID, or valid passport - must accompany your application for verification purposes.  Once your application and copy of valide ID is received, a customer service representative will open your new account on the day you request

Returning the Applications or Forms

  • Mail to:
    3200 Civic Center Circle NE
    Rio Rancho, NM  87144
  • Faxed to: 505-891-5204

Fees :  A $25 administrative fee will be charged to your account.

Deposits
A deposit of $100 is required but can be waived if you are already an established water service customer with good credit history or if you have a letter of credit showing a good credit history from another utility company to include gas, electric or water.  The deposit can normally be charged to your account.  If you have not received your letter of credit from your former utility company at the same time you apply for a water service account, you may bring it or fax it (505-891-5204) to Customer Services and the deposit charge will be removed from your account.

Turning Service On
"If you are confident that no water has been left on and the home is not a HUD or Foreclosed home, you can sign a Release to Turn Water On Form and send or fax it to us with your application. Then no one needs to be present at the residence. This form releases the City of Rio Rancho from all responsibility for any damage done by running water. If you want to be present when the water is connected or the home is a HUD or Foreclosed home, you can fill out a Home Reconnect Form to specify the 4-hour window that you will be at the residence for turn on."
