JANUARY 2013 -- OUR PROCESS HAS CHANGED (again!)

Please read the following carefully!

Each job posting will list the required typing words per minute.  Please note that this is an Average Actual Net Words Per Minute ("WPM") that reflects speed and accuracy based on the number of actual words you type as compared with the length of time it takes you to type the typing questions, muliplied by your accuracy percentage.

You must take an on-line typing test.  To do this, click this link:

When you click on the link, you will be redirected to another website, hosted by ESkill.  At this website, you will be asked to provide your name and e-mail address.  Your e-mail address must be unique to YOU (please do not share your e-mail address with anyone else for purpose of applying for jobs or taking the typing test).

The typing test consists of two typing questions, and you can expect it to take you about 10 minutes to finish the entire test.  When you have finished typing the first question, proceed to the second.  When you have completed the second test and click "End Test", your results will appear on the screen.

Be sure to your print the screen that reveals your typing scores.  The City uses the AVERAGE ACTUAL NET WPM score.

(Note:  The City no longer accepts typing scores or certificates from any other organization, including the New Mexico Dept. of Workforce Solutions.  All applicants must qualify for the job using this on-line typing test.)
