Intermodal Bike/Pedestrian Transportation Advisory Task Force

The task force will make recommendations to the Governing Body related to expanding bicycle and pedestrian routes, paths and trails throughout the city. The task force will also advise on educational initiatives to promote the safe use and enjoyment of outdoor facilities. The task force will meet for a maximum of one year.

Representation on the task force will consist of seven Rio Rancho residents selected by the mayor and approved by the City Council. Task force membership will include:

• A representative employed and/or affiliated with Rio Rancho Public Schools
• A representative employed and/or affiliated with the Southern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (SSCAFCA)
• A representative with personal experience or knowledge in transportation planning
• A representative with personal experience or knowledge related to business
• A representative with personal experience or knowledge related to public health
• Two municipal residents at-large

Upcoming task force meetings will take place on Feb. 4 and Feb. 18, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Rio Rancho City Hall in the first floor Parks and Recreation Conference Room.
