  1. City Hall Hosting Rio Rancho Public Schools Senior Art Show Rising Stars

    April 9, 8:00 AM - April 28, 5:00 PM @ Rio Rancho City Hall

    The annual Rio Rancho Public Schools art show, Rising Stars, will take place on the third floor of Rio Rancho City Hall from April 9-28. Regular viewing hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The artwork on display is from high school seniors at various Rio Rancho Public Schools. A free, public reception with refreshments will be held on Friday, April 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall. During the reception, starting at 5 p.m., awards will be presented to students featured in the art show. Participation in the art show was open to all students in the class of 2015. The show is judged by guest artists and the awards are sponsored by the Rio Rancho Art Association and the New Mexico Art Education Association. As part of their membership requirement, National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students will also have their art featured in the Rising Stars show. The induction ceremony for these students will take place on April 17 at approximately 5:30

    Loma - April is National Poetry Month. Come to your local library and see what kind of a poem you can create by using an old printed page from a book and blacking out words, leaving only your poem. The original poems will be displayed anonymously for public viewing.

  3. Loma Colorado Main Library Art Exhibit - Gallery on the Go

    Loma - This diverse and fascinating mixed media exhibit features photographs by Mikki Roth, oils by Ivan Taylor, wire and semi-precious stone work by Bonnie Bessom, and fine art by Penny Shrawder.

  4. Informal iPad Instruction

    April 28, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM @ Esther Bone Memorial Library

    Technology enthusiast Andrew Hewes will host an informal iPad session. Bring questions about your iPad to Mr. Hewes anytime between 3:30-5:00.

  5. Planning & Zoning Board Mtg.

    April 28, 6:00 PM @ Rio Rancho City Hall

    Regular meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Rio Rancho City Hall. Meetings are streamed on the city's Web site and broadcast on Rio Vision, the city's government cable channel available to Rio Rancho Cable One subscribers.

    A Chicken’s Life Wednesday, April 29, 3 PM—Meet many different types of chickens and learn all about a chicken’s life stages. This will also be the final opportunity to say goodbye to the library-fostered little chicks. Hosted in the Loma Colorado auditorium. All ages. Galloping Grace Youth Ranch.

  8. Public Meeting: Southern Boulevard Preliminary Design

    April 29, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ City Hall

    The City of Rio Rancho Public Works Department is holding a meeting on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, to present the preferred alternative and design elements to address the needs of Southern Boulevard between N.M. 528 and Rainbow Boulevard. Area residents, business owners, property owners, motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, bus riders, and all other interested parties are encouraged to attend the meeting to provide input and ask questions. Proposed project improvements may include roadway reconstruction and widening, traffic signals, lighting, drainage structures, utility modifications, signs, striping, landscaping, and bicycle, pedestrian and transit components.
