Road Work
Lane Restrictions Related to Water Service Line Replacement

Work taking place may require roadway lane restrictions between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. When this occurs detour routes will be noted with signs.

Star Villa Circle (October 27-30, 2014): Access from 18th Street will be limited to residents only.

Funeral Motorcade Route

On Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a motorcade will leave Daniels Mortuary at 4310 Sara Road in Rio Rancho and transport Officer Anthony Haase to the Santa Ana Star Center for funeral services. 

Traffic will be stopped along the route as the motorcade passes.  It is expected that the motorcade will consist of many vehicles, delaying traffic in the area.

The route is as follows:

West on Sara Road to N.M. 528

North on N.M. 528 to Northern Boulevard

West on Northern Boulevard to Unser Boulevard

North on Unser Boulevard to NM 347 (Paseo del Volcan)

East on NM 347 to Broadmoor Boulevard

North on Broadmoor Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan Bypass

West on Paseo del Volcan Bypass to South Center Drive

North on South Center Drive to the first entrance of the parking lot at the Santa Ana Star Center

After the service is concluded, approximately 11:30 a.m., the motorcade will transport Officer Haase to the Vista Verde Memorial Park located at 4310 Sara Road.  The motorcade will pass by and pause at the Rio Rancho Police Headquarters for Officer Haase’s last radio call. 

The route is as follows:

South on South Center Drive to Paseo del Volcan Bypass

East on Paseo del Volcan Bypass to Broadmoor Boulevard

South on Broadmoor Boulevard to NM 347 (Paseo del Volcan)

West on NM 347 to Unser Boulevard

South on Unser Boulevard to Northern Boulevard

East on Northern Boulevard to Quantum Road

South on Quantum Road, stopping briefly in front of 500 Quantum Road where the last radio call will take place

After the last call, east on Quantum Road to N.M. 528

South on N.M. 528 to Sara Road

East on Sara Road to Meadowlark Road

South on Meadowlark Road to the entrance to Vista Verde Memorial Park

Widening of N.M. 528 from Southern Blvd. to Ridgecrest Drive (New Mexico Department of Transportation Project)

Currently March 2014 through fall 2014

Monday through Friday

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Both directions will have various lane closures for roadway construction

Left-turns from N.M. 528 onto Leon Grande Avenue will be restricted starting Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 and until further notice.  Motorists will be detoured to Sabana Grande Avenue. 

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, and through Nov. 2, 2014, access to Crest View Drive from N.M. 528 will be closed.  Motorists are advised to follow the marked detour.

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, through Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., N.M. 528 northbound between Southern Boulevard and Ridgecrest Drive will be restricted to one lane.  Motorists are advised to use Sara Road to Broadmoor Boulevard to avoid delays.

From Oct. 27-31, 2014, access to Ridgecrest Drive from N.M. 528 will be closed.

From Oct. 30 through Nov. 4, 2014, access to Ridgerock Road from N.M. 528 will be closed.

VIEW real time speed data on Unser Boulevard from Westside Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan and Southern Boulevard from Lisbon Avenue to N.M. 528.  On the map, BLUE is fast (above the speed limit); GREEN is normal (around the speed limit); YELLOW is below normal (below the speed limit); ORANGE is slow (significantly below the speed limit); and RED is extremely slow (traffic is at a crawl). The map auto-refreshes every 5 minutes.

Updated information is posted as it becomes available. Motorists traveling within construction zones are urged to drive with caution and observe traffic control devices. Remember to always wear your seat belt and drive the speed limit.
