A free business forum workshop has been established for the third Thursday of each month for those interested in learning more about doing business in Rio Rancho. The forum is made possible through sponsorship and collaboration between the city of Rio Rancho, Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce, WESST Rio Rancho office, and the Sandoval County Small Business Development Center Rio Rancho office.
The workshops take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Rio Rancho City Hall, 3200 Civic Center Circle. Upcoming workshop dates include Jan. 16, Feb. 20, and March 20. Advance registration is highly advised and can be done at www.rrrcc.org, or by contacting Susan at (505) 999-1835 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
At each workshop, business counselors and representatives from the sponsoring and collaborating organizations will be present. Topics that will be covered include:
•Review of the services that are available to help start and run a small business•Key components of a business plan and how to write one•How to research potential markets•Review of local resources (financial services, banks, micro-lenders, government contracts and contacts, small business agencies, and professional associations)•An overview of how to do business in Rio Rancho, including business registration and proper Gross Receipts Tax reporting
Following each workshop, attendees can join counselors and representatives from presenting agencies at Pizza 9 located inside the Santa Ana Star Center adjacent to City Hall. In this venue, individual questions can be addressed and the opportunity to meet other small business owners will exist.
